The Clinic for Herbal and Homeopathic Medicine at Saltergate, Chesterfield was established in 1974.

Michael P Freeston-Smith M.R.H. D.HoM, the medical herbalist and homeopathic practioner, completed three years of study under Dr James Hewlett-Parsons of the Council and Register of Consulting Herbalists and Homeopathic Practitioners in Bournemouth before establishing Chesterfield's Clinic for Herbal and Homeopathic Medicine.

Michael has been practicing Herbal and Homeopathic Medicines continually now for 36 years and during that time has enjoyed a wonderful career meeting very special people from all walks of life, who have entrusted him with their health and well being.

We provide consultation and treatments for all patients within local surrounding areas including Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

 In the mid 1970’s when there were still very few Practitioners countrywide, The Clinic for Herbal and Homeopathic Medicine even had patients visiting on a regular basis from as far as Yeovil in Somerset, but the prize must go to an elderly couple who travelled four times a year from the Isle of Skye.

There are, of course, hundreds more Practitioners today, but we still find it enormously rewarding when patients who were brought to my Surgery as children, now bring their children – but it also makes one wonder where the time has gone!!
